about

Total time = 68:21

Post-rock before the term was coined, this instrumental double-album was released on cassette in Halifax (NS) in late summer 1991 (two months before Neil Young's Arc-Weld and roughly three years before Godspeed You Black Emperor's first cassette album). Each track is unique and different, with the in-your-face of That's It for You contrasting with ordered machinic melancholy of Me Machine, or the dreamy acoustic build of Sleeping Days. Alan's personal favourite here is Eye Teeth, composed for trumpets and guitar feedback - clearly not for everyone. Pins and Nine Chains also. All now lovingly re-mastered for improved sound quality.

Alan Walks plays on this album:
Trumpets
Guitars
Vibraphone
Bass
Drums/Percussion
&
Analog Synth on 'Curtain'

(note: On all other tracks any chords and sonic washes are all provided by multi-tracked trumpets and guitar/feedback - the only synth appears on Curtain)
